Population per canton

Au 1er janvier 2018, la population totale du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg a dépassé le seuil de 600 000 habitants. En effet, 602 005 personnes ont été comptées au début de cette année dans le Registre National des Personnes Physiques (RNPP). Les cantons Luxembourg et Esch sont les cantons les plus peuplés, avec respectivement 182 607 et 176 820 habitants. Ils concentrent à eux-seuls environ 60 % de la population nationale. Les autres dix cantons sont beaucoup moins fortement habités avec des parts de la population totale variant entre 8.00 % à Capellen et 0.86 % à Vianden.
